Our Classrooms

We serve ages of 6 weeks to 5 years.

Wee Step: 6 weeks to 12 months

We believe that learning starts in the womb, which is why we view Wee Step as more than just a place for your baby to spend their day. It is a classroom where learning takes place each day. We encourage learning through sensory activities, books, visual stimulation, as well as through loving interactions

Step One: 12 to 24 months

Step One is a classroom designed to meet the unique needs of one year olds. One year olds are curious and they are finding their independence. However, they still need lots of cuddling and love. The teachers in this room provide that mixture each day. Circle time begins in this classroom as well as eating at the table as a group and using a sippy cup.

Step Two: 24 months to 30 months

Our Step Two classroom is designed to meet the needs of the growing toddler. This room is equipped to begin potty training, which is a huge benefit. The teachers provide many engaging art/sensory experiences as well as one on one time during free choice.

Step 2 plus: 30 months - 3 years

Step Two Plus is a transition room to help overcome the hump of going from toddler to preschooler. This class continues with helping in potty training and mastering it before their next transition. Circle time is conducted twice as day with the students to teach days of the week, colors, numbers, and other age appropriate information.

Step Three: 3 to 4 years old

Step Three begins the introduction of more preschool based activities. The students start to practice holding and writing with different utensils. They will work on writing/tracing their name along with other letters, numbers, and shapes. Play based centers still take place, along with many fun, age appropriate science experiments and art projects.

Step Four: 4 to 5 years old

Step Four continues to build on preschool skills. The students are now more aware of emotions and actions. In this classroom, the teachers communicate that emotions are feelings and tools they use to express themselves. This classroom also helps the students to create independence and self-help skills by working to increase the students' self-esteem. The students are working on mastering colors, shapes, seasons, weather, as well as continuing with the information they have learned in previous classes.

Step Five: 5 years old

Step Five incorporates pre-kindergarten skills to help begin creating the kindergarten atmosphere. Students work on mastering the concept of time with words, sequencing in stories, grouping by different characteristics, and solving problems during investigations. Students are introduced to the action of sitting at the table and completing age appropriate class work. Sight words, as well as name writing and recognition are practiced daily in the classroom.
