Our Kitchen

SSA offers 3 wholesome meals each day including breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snack. These meals are made in house just as you would make in your own home. We use quality ingredients and stay away from most premade items.

Mrs. Beki is our full time cook. She has been married for 5 years, mom of 2, and bonus mom of 4.

When she is not at SSA, she enjoys reading and spending time with her family.

FAQs

Is SSA a peanut free zone?

Yes! Peanut products are not allowed in our building and we check all ingredient lists before allowing items into the classroom.

“My child is very picky, what if they don’t eat?”

We always recommend you give your child a few days to get the hang of everything. All our kids eat at the same time in their classrooms. Most of the time, kids see other friends eating and enjoying the meal that it gives them the idea that maybe it is good. Typically they start eating and enjoy the food we offer without any problems.

If the food does become an issue, you can bring alternatives to offer along side the meal we provide.

“My child has a special diet, can I bring their meals?”

Yes! If you would like to bring the meals, we are happy to store a lunch box in the class fridge with their meals for the day.

We do have strict meal requirements from DHS (Department of Human Services) and meals provided from home need to contain a protein, vegetable, grain, fruit, and dairy. Please call if you have specific questions!

Do you offer a milk alterative?

SSA offers almond milk if you prefer or if your child has a lactose allergy. If you prefer your child have something else, you are more than welcome to bring it and we will keep it in the classroom fridge for them.

Do you accommodate vegetarians?

Absolutely! We will either pull out some of the main dish before adding the meat or we will have an alterative available. Alternatives include mac and cheese, cheese quesadilla, vegetable soup, or a pb& j with wow butter!
